Community Development
Services
Community Development provides many services for the community. Among its primary responsibilities are:
  • Site and building inspections
  • Code enforcement

The department is also responsible for drafting environmental and zoning legislation, issuing local business tax permits and alcohol licenses and renewals, managing sanitation pick-ups and problems, encouraging business attraction and retention, and community outreach & public relations.

Growth
Community Development oversees the Livable Centers Initiative (LCI), which promotes increased residential development, mixed-uses and connectivity in activity and town center, and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), which encourages increased commercial development.

Administration
The administration manages all the functions of the department and ensures that all activities and special projects are meeting community needs in an effective and efficient manner.
